I’m pleased to announce that Sarah Owen Photography has been selected to exhibit at the Designer Wedding Show in October this year. This is a truly wonderful show, with the very best suppliers from all areas of the wedding market hand picked to exhibit. If you’re planning your wedding, and are looking for the finest essentials, look no further. Please have a look at their website for more information www.designerweddingshow.co.uk. I look forward to seeing you there!
Not sure what fairy school is? If you have young girls (or boys who want to be wizards) then you really should! Run by Fairy Jem, these Sunday morning sessions at Coffee & Crayons cafe in Fulham are so popular. The children come dressed as fairies and, for the next hour and a half, watch in wonderment as fairy magic is performed, make their own fairy masks, dance and sing, and loads more. I went down last Sunday to take photographs, which are available to buy from this website if your child was there, and find out what it was all about. Fairy Jem is also available for childrens birthday parties - you can contact her by email on jemsfairies@yahoo.co.uk, or by phone on 07847 472 015 - and, if you’d like, I can be there to capture the memories of all that wonderment and excitement.
Coffee and Crayons is a fantastic child-friendly cafe that offers a unique environment for those with children, including an amazing downstairs supervised play-area which children are entertained with arts and crafts. Visit them at 915 Fulham Road, London. SW6 5HU. Their web address is http://www.coffeeandcrayons.co.uk/.

Matthew and Harry
February 19th, 2008 Filed under: Portraits by SarahMatthew and Harry certainly brightened up my Sunday a few weeks ago - they were so much fun! For their lifestyle portrait shoot the family and I went for a lovely walk through the woods, kicking up leaves, playing pooh sticks and generally messing about. The result is beautiful, natural photographs which capture wonderful memories of the boys at this age.

I love the way the movement in the above image really adds to the sense of happiness and laughter.

Mucky knees and all!

The UK Wedding Show
February 11th, 2008 Filed under: General News by SarahI recently exhibited at the UK Wedding Show at the Excel centre in London’s docklands. It was a fantastic show, I really enjoyed myself (which is credit to the show!) and got to meet loads of new people. There was a lot of work leading up to it, but it was well worth while, my photographs went down really well and there was a lot of interest.
Those of you that I met at the show, I hope you had a good time and found it useful. I’ll look forward to hearing from you soon!

Last week I got to go back into a studio (I haven’t used one since my days working at a portrait studio) to shoot images of Jes for his new website. He does a lot of adventure racing i.e. Iron Man competitions and, what sounds crazy to me, being dropped in the sahara desert and racing for 6 days to reach the finish line! So, we did the basic images he needed, then had some fun with the lighting. Some of my favourite images are below.

I can’t wait to see his new website now!
If you have a commercial photography job don’t hesitate to get in touch. A commercial website will be coming soon.
Sherina and Jon’s Wedding
February 7th, 2008 Filed under: Weddings by SarahI had a fantastic time photographing Sherina and Jon’s wedding on the 5th January at Stoke Place. It was such a beautiful day, not only the weather (amazing for January, you couldn’t have hoped for a better day), but the venue, all the details and of course the bride and groom! This was their second ceremony (well actually third), as they got married in Malaysia over the summer, but the attention to detail was still there, and the day was jam packed - including an Indian ceremony and a fabulous performance by (and dancing to) ’Frank Sinatra’. Here are some of my favourite images from the day.

One of the bridesmaids having her sari fitted.
Sherina having her make-up done.

The bride and groom with the besutiful stoke place in the background.

Was it something I said…..?

A really lovely natural one of Sherina caught as she hugged a friend.

Making an entrance for their first dance

And finally Jon’s speech.
I could add so many more! If you do want to see more you can find them by following this link and selecting Weddings.
